As a landscape irrigation company, Smart Water is incredibly proud to have contributed to the Victoria Park Regional Playground project. It is always a privilege to work on a project that not only brings joy to the community and celebrates the site history and broader indigenous ecology of Boroondara.

The project was completed last October, and we are thrilled to hear that it has been a fantastic outcome with very few issues during construction. We completed the irrigation design for the project and the tender and construction documentation. We are humbled by the feedback from the council and community, who are extremely happy with the results. The fact that visitation has skyrocketed since the opening is a testament to the success of the project.

The Victoria Park Regional Playground is an inclusive, accessible, and intergenerational space that offers a wide range of experiences for people of all ages and abilities to connect with nature through play and exploration. We particularly like the 1970s bluestone gravity retaining wall into a nature trail with a giant slide. It is an excellent example of existing infrastructure that can be repurposed and integrated into the natural environment.

The park features a broad mix of traditional and bespoke play and art elements, parkour, BMX/scoot track, senior fitness, changing places facility, and picnic areas. All of these elements were nestled into the natural environment to create a highly engaging, functional, and unique play experience.

The success of the Victoria Park Regional Playground project is due to the collaboration and hard work of all involved. We are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this incredible project and would like to thank everyone involved, especially ACLA Consultants and the community, for their support.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the future and the potential for more projects like this. We believe that the Victoria Park Regional Playground is an excellent example of how we can create inclusive, accessible, and sustainable outdoor spaces that bring people together and promote a healthy lifestyle.
